Dear Diary,
Mrs. Stokes talked about trash and how it is disposed of in class today.
She told us that most of the things around us will one day be thrown away and end up in a landfill as garbage and debris. “You mean my skates, asked Truga? That's right, said Mrs. Stokes! My drum? I asked, that's right!
She told us someone would have to dispose of the waste by compacting or putting the waste in an incinerator to reduce the trash into ashes!
Chubbie raised his hand to ask a question. We could tell he had a lot on his mind. He asked, “What does God do with all of our trash? You know, the trash that we allow to come in our lives through sin…. Does he compact it or reduce? How does he get rid of our trash?
My Uncle John was just passing by when he heard Chubbie's question. He asked Mrs. Stokes if he could answer the question… Uncle John explained “You see God's word tells us how we can get rid of the trash in our lives. First we ask God to forgive us and cleanse us with Jesus' sacrifice of love, ask Jesus to come into our hearts and our trash is thrown into the sea of forgetfulness.
Once we are forgiven, God doesn't see the trash anymore. He doesn't even remember them! Jesus is God's way of incinerating our trash but he doesn't leave any ashes! Wow! Chubbie replied. Can Jesus get rid of the trash in my heart right now?
Sure he can, said Uncle John… just say this prayer with me! We were so excited because John-John and I had been telling Chubbie about God's love and His forgiveness! Mrs. Stokes was so proud of Chubbie…. The whole class cheered after the prayer and Uncle John and Aunt Fee- Fee treated us all with ice cream!
